The Dual Degree Dual Certification program is a 5-year program that leads to teacher certification in Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6, teacher certification in Teacher of Students with Disabilities, a baccalaureate degree and a master’s degree.

BA in Psychology with Teacher Certification in Elementary School Teacher in Grades K-6

Students who wish to pursue K-6 teacher certification in Elementary Education must apply to and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program. The required courses for the Psychology Major teach students the basic components of Psychology combined with more specialized courses on a variety of related topics.

BA in Psychology with Teacher Certification in Social Studies (Preschool-Grade 12)

The Psychology Major with Teacher Certification in Social Studies (P-12) (B.A.) teaches students to have a broad understanding of the cultural and environmental factors which shape the individual and society. To meet the approved program for certification in social studies, course work is required in each of the following: anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science and sociology.

Graduate Programs

PhD in Clinical Psychology

The mission of the PhD program is to prepare students to become competent and highly skilled in the research and practice of clinical psychology. In emphasizing the integration of science and practice, the program adheres to a training approach consistent with the scientist-practitioner model. Students can seek advanced training in clinical child psychology or forensic psychology.

PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology

The PhD program in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at 911±¬ÁÏÍø follows the scientist-practitioner model, equally emphasizing the generation and application of psychological science to improve the workplace. Students will develop their research and analytical skills in concert with individual faculty members while also applying this knowledge through coursework, consulting, and experiential projects. The 911±¬ÁÏÍø I/O program also has many unique offerings to service a new generation of doctoral students in the 21st century.

Application Requirements

MA in Psychological Sciences

The Master of Arts in Psychological Sciences is designed as an intermediate degree focused on developing student research skills. This program prepares students for doctoral-level studies in a variety of psychological sub-disciplines, including experimentally-oriented fields like developmental, personality, cognitive, and biological psychology, as well as applied fields such as counseling, school, and social psychology.

MA in Psychological Sciences (Combined BA/MA)

MA in Clinical Psychology, Child/Adolescent Clinical Psychology Concentration

The Clinical Psychology, Child/Adolescent Clinical Psychology Concentration at the graduate level is comprised of thirty-six required credits with classes in Clinical Psychology, Research Methods in Psychology, Clinical Interviewing and culminates in a Capstone Externship designed to provide the skills necessary for professional practice.

MA in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Forensic Psychology Concentration

The Clinical Psychology, Clinical Forensic Psychology Concentration at the graduate level is comprised of seven required courses and four electives for a total of thirty-six credits covering different aspects of Psychology, Forensic Psychology, and Criminal Proceedings.

MA in Industrial and Organizational Psychology

The Master’s Program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology has required courses in Research Methods and Psychology, Quantitative and Statistical Methods, and Psychological Tests. The additional electives are chosen from a list of specialized categories and the program culminates in the option of either an internship experience or Master’s Thesis.

School Psychologist, Educational Services Certification

This program will adhere to both the standards set forth by National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) and Division 16 School Psychology of the American Psychological Association.  Students will follow the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) curriculum for certification in school psychology.

Criminal Forensic Psychology Certification
